As you stroll into an eye-catching and colourful garden wonderland, your senses are overwhelmed as you encounter the wonderful scents of mouthwatering food, the sight of local arts and craft and hear the resounding buzz of others enjoying and experiencing all there is on offer. You enjoy a local boutique beer or a glass of the stunning selection of local wines, all the while being dazzled by live music and local entertainers.
A small walk away is a gorgeous heritage listed building, delicately decorated to showcase its stunning architectural beauty. Your evening is spent watching seasoned and award winning entertainers, some from across the globe, perform a variety of shows with a little something for everyone.
Well, imagine no more, for Midlandia has arrived!
For a combined four week run through January and February, Midlandia LOCALE and Midlandia FRINGE will be taking over the heart of Midland, creating a diverse spectacle and a plethora of entertainment to suit all ages and tastes.
Midlandia LOCALE will have a distinct local flavor, showcasing some of the best produce and retail the City of Swan has to offer, all in a dynamic, colourful and vibrant carnival-esque market atmosphere. LOCALE is a pop-up venue which will feature night markets, live national and local musical acts, locally-sourced retailers, food and wine merchants, art and FRINGE performer showcases! LOCALE will take place every Friday night, Saturdays and Sundays for three weeks, kicking off with the official launch on Friday, January 17th.
An official venue for Perth’s 2014 Fringe Festival, Midlandia FRINGE will not only bring to Midland some of the best performance acts from around the state, country and globe, but showcase one of Perth’s most beautiful heritage listed buildings. The Midland Junction Arts Centre will be the home of Midlandia FRINGE for a three week run of shows with something for everyone. With performances from acts such as Steady Eddy, Chris Turner and Janelle Konig, there's a delightful, hilarious and occasionally racy mix of entertainment on offer as Midlandia FRINGE brings a selection of the some of the most exciting acts Fringe World has to offer.
